real change

Internal debate anyone?

I often ask myself how on earth can real change happen when there is so much going wrong in the world:

War
Violence
Hatred
Poverty
Starvation
Global warming
Greed
Deception
Manipulation

The list could go on and on.

We are destroying each other and decimating the planet.

The sheer volume of insanity consuming the world makes my heart sick and brings up the thought:

Why bother? The scale is too huge, there is no way I can alter the course of our destruction.

Fortunately this is where I disagree with myself.

The hugeness is inconsequential. That’s really just an excuse not to make changes in my corner of the world.

In this increasingly interconnected world, small changes can ripple through communities and race around the globe.

All it takes is a commitment to change, a commitment to live our lives in such a way that we shine with love and respect for our human community and this earth we walk on…a commitment to grow our awareness and stand up against manipulation and misinformation.

If enough of us join together and do this, we can create real change in this world.

The thing is, we need to do it now. Extensive damage has already been inflicted on our earth and the people who dwell here.

The choice is up to us, and our children will live with the consequences of what we decide.
