sucking at small talk

I find that I’m fairly bad at small talk these days.

For example: when asked the question “what’s new with you?” my responses tend to be along the lines of nothing really, since I have a strong suspicion that most other people are not interested in hearing about my daughter’s pooping, sleeping, and eating habits.

And that’s the reality of “what’s new” in all its glory: potty, food, and sleep with a generous helping of books, dancing, and playing thrown in the mix, oh, and cleaning too.

It may not lead to the most engaging conversations, but you know what? I wouldn’t have it any other way.
