why Rudie, why?

My dog Rudie has the uncanny ability to time her barking in such a way that she frequently wakes up Kaja, which often results in tired, unenthused baby. Check out how sleepyhead ever so seriously pulls her elephant along while eating a plum:

I’ll take it as an opportunity to practice patience and understanding. She’s a wonderful dog. and I love her to pieces (and so does Kaja), but I’m sure most parents understand the crazy rage that wells up at the source of the current wake up.

But the anger is brief and I try to focus on how much Kaja explodes with excitement when she sees her buddy.

She really is a fantastic dog and I’m glad she’s in her family. Hopefully she’ll learn to use her psychic wake up powers for good.
